The example above should assign these hotkeys to L3 and R3 on XInput controllers, but should be verified by the user and they can be assigned to any other button like every other hotkey. While lr-pcsx-rearmed has an emulated BIOS to fall back on, this has limited compatibility meaning most games will have issues running with it, others will not work at all, and all games that use memory card saves are prone to save corruption.

It should be considered mandatory to manually install an official BIOS. The recognized name can be all uppercase or all lowercase so if saving space and using PCSX-ReARMed is a concern, then you may want to consider renaming scph Whilst PCSX-ReARMed has an emulated BIOS to fall back on, this has limited compatibility meaning most games will have issues running with it, others will not work at all, and all games that use memory card saves are prone to save corruption.

The reason for this is related to a default lr-pcsx-rearmed core setting, and there is a very good reason the setting is the way it is that we will get into later. After the previous two settings have been changed, back out to the Quick Menu so that you can enter the Controls section.

The reason for the problem is due to the PSX originally being released with a controller that didn't have analog sticks so the games released for the system before the analog sticks were added to the controller only accounted for the standard controller: these games are generally referred to as Digital-Only games. Unfortunately, this is a problem that doesn't have an easy solution.

If you want all your games with analog support to work correctly, you will have to manually fix the Digital-Only games one by one. The process of fixing a Digital-Only game manually is mostly reverting the changes you made, but with a couple extra steps.

With those three things done, now we need to go back to the Quick Menu and go into the Controls section. After a complete exit back to EmulationStation, the game you've manually fixed will function correctly plus you will be able to use the left analog stick for upto 8-way movement if you want to.

Keep in mind the "Analog To Digital" step is completely optional and included for those that may want to still use an analog stick for movement in games that didn't support it originally. For a decent list of which games are Digital-Only, check the spreadsheet and website found in the "Game Specific Control Information" section below. The "analog" setting found between "standard" and "dualshock" in the Quick Menu's Options for lr-pcsx-rearmed is for the NeGcon.

On a Pi 2 this introduces some slowdown and audio skipping, but on a Pi 3 it appears to work without issue.

The 'speed hack' option is required for good results, but has some minor visual glitches. The latest version of lr-pcsx-rearmed has the ability to emulate up to two Multitaps, allowing player support in games that permit it. It does this via core options. However, just as with the original hardware, many games do not support the multitap and will not recognise any inputs with it turned on, so it is recommended to only enable multitaps for games that support it, via the 'Game Specific Options' retroarch functionality which allows you to create core options files for specific games.

Plop this file into the same directory as the pbp files.

I know in LaunchBox you can add the m3u file as the main file to be loaded and add individual pbp files as additional applications to directly go to each disk.

To switch disc, just use the retroarch quick menu and change disks. When using. Check Settings, Input, Hotkeys to see what they are. Man, when did I miss that, since when is this working? I just converted Riven from 5 separate discs to 1 PBP that includes all 5 discs and tried it in game, I reached the second CD, which is really fast btw, I opened the tray, picked CD 2 just the number actuallythan closed the tray, it worked!

Is there a way to quickly combine PBP files?

retroarch pbp

Pretty soon after pbp support was initially added by Zapeth I think. Or are they both equivalent solutions? One, for portability and two, for less possible track issues. Anyway, PBP allows you keep your roms in a compressed state when playing. I made sure games like that still had working music after I converted them to pbp before converting my collection over.

But in the latest build of the core my pbps of Wipeout XL and 3 started freezing. So you definitely want to test your games after conversion to make sure they work. Also the multi track games works flawlessly, but like Awakened said earlier, you have to test them before you remove the original bins. I have a thread over there with themes I created last year. I second the above solution.

Needless to be said, we think this will be one of the main standout features of RetroArch v1. And to see it running as fluidly as it does in RetroArch without any audio breakup whatsoever or any frames dropped is a sight to behold. After version 1. Nearly all of the credit for this port should go towards aliaspider- I played only a minor but crucial part in the proceedings.

He has really done a bang-up job porting over a great many new cores over that are useful for the PSP, as well as improving the performance of existing cores so that they run well on the PSP. Please keep in mind that a PSP for general purpose code is about two times as slow as a Raspberry Pi.

No idea yet if this core will make it for the v1. How much farther can we go from here?

Category: PSP

The future only knows. Several new cores will be appearing. This was a home computer released in the mids that was backed up by a consortium of companies among them a little company called Microsoft and another small fish called Sony. There will be RetroKeyboard support for these cores to sweeten the deal, but we will also try to have some sane default configs for the RetroPad per-game for some of the more popular games.

There will also be a Vectrex core, Vecx.

PSX on PSP eBoots:

Lakka will appear inside RetroArch starting as of version 1. So far, users have been using a very low-fi menu called RGUI. Lakka will be a more full-featured eyecandy UI. In the future, more menu drivers can be added, each being tailored towards a specific enduser preference. You can watch a video of a prototype in action here — keep in mind that this is still a prototype and that the final version will look a lot more refined.

We already touched upon this in the previous blog post about RetroArch v1. We received a Blackberry Z10 phone from Blackberry sometime ago. In return, we will fully support Blackberry 10 starting as of v1. The iOS version will be totally revamped as well. Cjori was working with me sometime ago on Controllers For All support. Hopefully I will be able to approach him a week before release time or so that we can do some final beta testing before we put the final polished version out.

I received an X-Arcade Tankstick courtesy of Xgaming, and in return this device will be fully supported. Android support will be added, and I will also look into making it possible to bind it in RetroArch as two separate game controllers instead of it being recognized as a keyboard. After v1.
